I don't really understand the question- does the lever have some slop on the shaft and come clear off periodically? If that is the case, then you have a unique problem. If you find a little slack in the gearchange mechanism and a little drivetrain slack, then it is normal. The transmission is the one thing that I would like improved on my bike.
