My local dealer is Sindt Motor Sales in Dubuque, IA. I read some previous posts that said Gary was hard to deal with. I bout my 04 RS brand new with no trade. So there wasn't any dealing so I can't comment on that. I also received the $1000 discount Triumph was offering. When it was all said and done my new RS cost me $6200. Everything I buy through him I recieve a discount on. I imagine most dealers do that though.
The biggest thing Gary helped me with was getting me my license. I didn't have my motorcycle license when I first came to him. After I got my permit he let me take one of his bikes and practice in his lot for a while. The next morning he came in early (before they opened on a Saturday) and loaded the bike onto one of his trucks and sent me off to take my test. Needless to say he made that process much easier than it would of been since I didn't have too many other ptions.
Someone mentioned before also that he wasn't big into Triumph. If they mean he doesn't have as many Triumph on hand as he does other brands they are right. However, Gary is a Triumph freak! It may be almost borderline too much. :-D He drives Triumphs himself and has been knowledgeble on everything I have needed, Triumh or not. I am looking at buying another bike this fall or next spring and unless something major changes it will be bought at Sindt's. If Gary has his way it will be a Daytona, but I really like the R6 so we'll see.
With all this being said, everyone's experience is different. I have had great luck, service, and a great relationship with Gary and his staff. I can't and won't promise everyone else will, but I just wanted to get it out that I am very happy with my local dealer. I am also not saying that any negative or neutral experiences posted by others didn't or can't happen. The best thing to do is go in and try them out for yourself.
