I've had my 94 tiger for 5,000km now. I replaced the throttle cable soon after buying the bike (at 96,000km) because it was munted where it passes the steering head. On the next ride I noticed the throttle was sticky after riding on a dusty road. After giving it a good caning it came right. About 1000Km later another dusty raod and sticky throttle again. No amount of hard riding made it come right - it was 130Km of dusty road. This is when I decided there may be a corelation between dust and sticky throttle. It only sticks at the beginning of the twist. Also it doesn't shut off either, which makes for big eyes as corners come up fsater than planned. I had a 100,000Km service at the local Triumph dealer who cleaned the air filter (K&N), cleaned the carbs and all the other 100k stuff. It was fine after this but today after going through just 150 meters of dusty bloody roadworks it got sticky again. Just at the beginning of the throttle throw is a noticable stick - the rest of the twist is fine. Slowing from well open throttle is no problem but if I tootle along at, say, 60km, 3500rpm with no load and let the throttle go it decelerates decidedly slowly.

This is making my swears come out. Please help. topher01@xtra.co.nz
