If you want to get rid of the fender without spending the $$, it's pretty easy just to chop it. Won't look as swank as the Ermax setup, but total cost is $0. You can always spring for a proper undertail later if you want.
I laid out a cut line on mine that retained the existing turnsignals, cut it with a dremel, and then dressed up the edge. Removed the reflectors and moved the license mount up to the old location of the rear reflector. It's a big improvement over the stock fender.
