Hi, I picked up on this subject from the sports/touring 955 forum. I used Scottoilers for years and agree they're great . But when looking for an oiler for my SSSA RS I decided to go for a Loobman. It works fine: well oiled chain, none where it's not wanted.
I did have a problem with the fitting instructions (with a large piece of wire!) but made my own bracket with a small strip of galavanised sheet ('bout 1/2" x 2"). On a conventional swinging arm it should be easier.
I use normal engine oil and have had no problems for about 1/5th the cost of a Scottoiler.......
