Good for you. Let them keep on thinking you're just a great rider on a poor bike if that's what they want. I've found the same thing when leading groups, and these guys all talk about how quick the pace was for them. One friend with a Paso 900 keeps talking about it. I just smile and remind him that there's really only 100cc difference in our bikes, image notwithstanding. Sure, they can go away in straights, but except for a good rider on a sport bike, I think we handle better than them all. I put it up to a good, light, well balanced bike & frame combination, and that tall front wheel which makes me feel like I could put the bike anywhere in a corner I wanted.
