I have 3 bikes and I ride all winter.......but during the really cold weather the Speed Four is the bike of choice.

It is VERY reliable in cold temps, starting on first try almost everytime.
The only time I had a slight starting issue was in single digit temps, the bike was sitting outside at work for 12 hours and I had to crandk it 2-3 times before it would start.
And it warms up fast, My Monster reads Low temp almost the entire way home ( 10 miles) the S4 registers a 160 almost within a mile!

But I know for a fact My Ducati Monster would not have started and the Harley I have I don't even take out when the temps are below 40!

But I find the S4 is great for cold wet weather riding!! If your winter temps are really cold teens and 20's I reccommend a lighter wt oil for the winter to help with starting.
