I just got another quote from a Denver, CO dealer for the 12,000 mile service. This quote was $829 plus valve shims if needed. I didn't even get around to asking if this price was inclusive of the parts and supplies like oil, but I don't think it was. He said to budget $1,000 for this service. Yikes! The quote of $329 in my home town is starting to sound much better even though there are some recommended things they don't include. In the end, I think I will pay for the valve check and possibly the throttle bodies and do most of the rest myself.
