That would explain why the photos aren't exactly "catalog quality". Never really thought about it before, but I'd guess that manufacturers show their bikes to the magazines early so that the celebratory new bike articles can be sent to press and printed just after the announcements come out.
I'd guess that these photos were leaked by someone involved in the press trip. Interesting that everyone seems to be out in the open in an almost urban setting. I suppose it could be early in the morning though.
