Tire Prices

I just had the rear replaced last week. Breaks down as follows:

140/80-17 Avon Roadrider rear 125.99

500/530-17 Tube 11.95

EPA Tire Disposal fee 2.00

Labor (mount and balance) 27.50

Sales Tax 9.66

177.10
I had this done at a local undealer shop. I removed the wheel

and took it in and left it, but it was done in 1 hour. Gerry,

at the 2 Wheel Bike Shop in Byron (Macon?) is a good

guy to me so far, and I assured that there was a front to

match. The front runs about $25.00 less. While removing

the rear wheel in our Georgia 95 deg heat, I was wondering

if saving $27.50 was really worth it. Gerry's air conditioned

shop with lift, pullers etc. really nice. I usually don't shop

the internet for things I can't install myself. I've been on the

other end of that stick, and I think I have a vested interest

in keeping Gerry around.
