Smile Problem solved

Turns out that the cover holds the lock barrel in. Just remove the rivet by filing a couple of flats on it - Give it a twist with pliers or tap it with punch (sideways twist) till it comes loose remove cover, insert key, unlock and the whole thing comes out. Turns out mine never worked because the small screw (see photo) that engages the slot in the frame was able to screw in too far so it never clicked in. So as soon as I removed the cover it just sprung out. Easy fix just put a small piece of of metal under the small screw to make it stand out further and loctite the screw in place. Replace the rivet with a screw and loctite it in place as well (or order new rivet). I agree ricksd get dealer to do it under warranty lots of miles between us though!
