I have this connector and love it. I have 2720 without battery and aouto shut off so whatever it is I don't care. I've always wired all my GPS to a constant on circuit so I can work with them while the bike is off - sometimes you need 5-10 minutes of route adjustments of looking for a local point and don't need your bike to keep running all this time.
I found out that even running gps for 20 minutes doesn't put any noticeable drain on the battery. I use the GPS power switch to shut it off. Also when I am in the city - I just unlpug the extension, put the blank plug in place and have nothing dangling out when GPS is not in use
