My 56 TR6 also said 376 stock but has a 389/22 on it right now, which is quite a bit bigger carb. The 689 is the opposite of a 389 on dual carb setups. My bike was a race bike in the mojave dessert back some 40 years ago and so im sure that the 689 was put on your bike for better performance.
