As far as the 10k service interval, one is free to have it serviced as often as they like.

As far as being happy with every aspect of my bike, I don't think I ever said that.

As far as the OP most people don't understand or know about race style gear boxes with straight cut gears and that most shifting issues can be traced to improper oil or the shifter not being properly adjusted.
The amount of threads on this over the years has been many. "Hey my bike is hard and "clunky" (gotta love that term) going into 1st. gear." When just a slight roll or double clutch will get the gear cogs out of toe to toe alignment and it will "snick" (love that one too) into gear. It is in most cases the nature of the beast. Nothing is wrong with it it's just the way it's designed and most don't understand it. And no, I wouldn't have them change it. It's stronger the way it is.
