If the '02 is the same as my '01, then the throttle is stationary, unless you file down the positioning "nub" that fits into the handlebar hole. I think WardenRoss has an '05 or newer model and they may be different. I did need to mess w the washers (spacers?) a bit to get them just right. I had the same issue, they seemed fine until a couple of months use, then I needed to readjust. But since then (3 yrs or so) it's been fine. I wouldn't use any lubrication as that negates the "friction" that I think is supposed to be there.
