Here is where I watched the Celtics kick the L.A. Laker's butt!
The next morning I headed out in freezing weather. Rt 160 from Ft. Garland was very flat until Wolf Creek Pass where it crosses the Rockies. Freezing again! Then once I headed down the pass, the weather changed dramatically. I started shedding gear and liners and changed gloves to vented. What startling changes in weather and geography for an eastener to see. I scooted by Durango as I had to make up some time. I ended up in Cortez and stopped for lunch.
I thought I didn't like Mexican food!
Wow! Was that a great lunch! I bought a t-shirt there I loved it so much.
Then I was off to the desert. Oh boy. I had no idea what I was in for. The four corners was a tease.
Man, you are out in the middle of nowhere! Nowhere! I was sucking on a dry Camelback at that time and my fuel was low. I have to tell you, I was a tad worried. Nothing in front of me and the last gas station was way, way, way back there. Nothing to do but forge on.
