I won't lie, I really liked the stock exhaust note. It was aggressive, yet it could have a little more kick to it. I didn't want anything too loud though, because I think that's just obnoxious. From what I read, it seemed like the TOR muffler fit the bill perfectly.
I hadn't really done any work to this bike yet, as it was still so new. The only work I have done is changing the oil at 600 miles, and now I'm at 1,600 miles, so I was excited to get my hands dirty. OK, I wore gloves, but whatever.
The only tools needed are a ratchet, 12mm socket, 12mm box wrench, 5mm allen wrench, and a phillips screwdriver.
Wiha tools are awesome and worth every penny:
First things first, had to remove the seat. What a horrible design. The Wiha phillips was great for this, because it allowed the head to tilt to the side, so you didn't have to have the screwdriver perfectly upright.
This was the first time I had removed the seat, and I noticed I have a "Cycle-Tron" Interstate battery? Does Triumph not have their own branded batteries?
After that it was time to remove the rails for the side bags:
It looks a lot cleaner without any rails - and now it was time to remove the rear fairing:
