It depends on whether you choose to log in each time you visit --that is, you leave "Remember me?" unchecked, as you should when you're using someone else's computer, so they can't log on as you later-- or whether you're using your own personal machine and do allow it to remember you. The log-in-for-each-session method has a timeout. The "remember me" way doesn't, because you automatically log in (in the background) any time you open a page on the site anyway.
