NEED HELP with drag specialties aftermarket tach

Finally got the tach via ups, hooked it up as per Ls1's direction sheet and it does not work.
When you turn ignition on, it lights up, when you bump over to starter, the needle flickers and when engine starts it goes totally dead, no lights no needle.
Im dealing with an 07 bonneville.
Tried using the instructions that came with it, hooked up the green wire(tach signal) to the negative terminal of the coil, still no go.
Tried hooking up the red/blue wirer to the headlight low beam and still not working...
If anyone out there has an 07 with this mod please let me know how you did it.
I'll search the threads while waiting for an answer...
Thanks Guys...
Bill
