Let me answer this one as my Sprint ST is of '01 'vintage'! The Triumph kit was $185 and the dealer charged 3 hours labor at $65 per (one year after original delivery. I suspect you could install the kit yourself if you have the time and are a bit mechanically inclined.

I had nearly every other concievable accessory installed prior to delivery thinking I would never need heated grips; one moderately long trip on a cold morning convinced me otherwise! Yeah, I think they are an excellent investment for cold weather riders.
