I think the black one's a Super Duke, which is a fair bit different (& about $5K cheaper) than an RC8.
I do agree that the colour's just a preference thing, & it's fortunate for those that like the colour. I wouldn't let either the colour or the slab sided fairing put me off buying one, as I hear it goes like stink. & that would overcome any other shortcomings the bike has.
