Not ALL EverStart's are AGM. They do have the wet plates as well. I think your stock battery is a YB14L-A2 wet plate(5 1/4l X 3 1/2w X 6 9/16h), the AGM I think is ETX15L. Double check though to be sure the size is the same and the posts are the same and on the same side. Also, make sure it's a 14 amphour rating. For 2000 up Trophy's it's ES14BS(5 7/8l X 3 1/2w X 5 3/4h).
That is an interesting read on the charging system. I know mine charges a little low at 1000rpm idle, so I turned mine up to appx 1100-1200rpm. A little better, but I think I might investigate further.
