Erv, you implied that the Everstart battery is AGM, I'm just confirming that. I'll check to see that they have my size the next time I'm in there. I'd much rather have AGM than wet plates.
This is a post in the workshop talk forum. It's an interesting read. I haven't investigated it, my system charges at 14.5+ volts most of the time per the on board volt meter.

I solved any clock drain problem. I took it out to install the Whistler motorcycle radar detector display. I now tell time on the bicycle computer installed on the left handle bar. It's a poor man's GPS, tells miles, avg. speed, top speed, time ridden, and the BEST, the MPH is accurate!
