They where originaly pop-riveted on whith a washer on the inside of the box for the one rivet on the end. I would think pop-rivets would be fine to put it back together. Just make sure you use the rivets with the steel pull post and not aluminum and it should be fine. Put the rivets in the same direction as your other side box and you shouldn't have any clearance probs with the latch.
