Thanks Triumphant600; I'm looking forward to seeing your project updates soon.
For some excellent news, the forks are NOT bent!! I finally got time yesterday to loosen the top triple clamp and bounce the bike a bunch; and what would you know... the wheel came right around. WILL, if you are reading this, good call. That was really the deciding factor as to how much time and money I wanted to throw at the bike, so now it’s on! I ordered a set of new tires yesterday--went with Pirelli Diablo Corsa III's, as I've run Pilot Powers and Metzler M1's (liking both) but have heard great things about the Pirelli's. I also think I have a set of 2007 Speed Triple mirrors purchased, if the guy can find one of them, and will be picking up turn signals this weekend.
So the two major things that are going to delay the road and the bike meeting are the headlights and left rearset. The rearset can be taken care of thanks to some great help and info from Dynagroove, but the S4/S3 headlight assembly market is very dry at the moment; what, no one wrecking bikes anymore? The aftermarket world is a possibility, but I’ve yet to hear good things about the quality of these parts compared to OEM units.
So if anyone gets a drop on a TT600/S4/D600/D650 left rearset or any year S4 or S3 headlight and bracket, or a wrecked bike being parted out or someone converting from S4 to TT600 for that matter, please PM me ASAP! The headlight bracket I need is off any year S4 or 2002-2004 S3.
