Any bike will wheelie. The safest way is to use your body to help it along.
ALWAYS cover your rear brake and be ready to hit it if you are going over backwards.
In 1st gear, get to the RPM where the power starts, Chop the throttle closed to load the front end then crack it open again while pulling/leaning back. If you get scared, close the throttle.
You can do this to get started doing little pop wheelies to get an idea where your bike likes to come up and how fast.
I prefer 2nd gear wheelies over little rises because you can carry them longer. I suck at shifting through the gears while wheeling.
Once you get the hang of it, you can practice body position and stand up. I prefer sit down wheelies and only stand up if I need to see.
