How Do You Deal With Tailgaters?

With all the gear on we are very limited to communicate with cagers. When one is too close my back I wave my hand as if pushing it back, a few times it works most times doesn't.

I know the best way is to let them go, but sometimes you would do nothing but.

I have at times gone on the shoulder and waved them to pass me as I show them my fist. In any case a biker can't win an argument with a cager, I think, unless at a stop he dismounts and gives the cager the boot, literally, but then we are in road rage territory, which is much like a minefield.

An LCD screen on my back that could display "Keep Away" with an optional added word, "a-hole," or whatever fits, would be nice.

Maybe just a sign "Don't Tailgate" that could come off or on for the commute hours would be fine. But that would up the drag of the bike quite a bit, though in traffic it doesn't matter much.

Comments welcomed.

Thanks
