I don't know if I'd expect it to be carbon buildup needing Seafoam, but a good cleaning never hurts I suppose. Does the bike stall as soon as you down shift, or when you let off the throttle all the way? Have you recently given the engine throttle immediately upon starting? If so, the throttle position could be bugged up, as this happens if you touch the throttle on startup. If this doesn't apply, I would double check your kick stand sensor to make sure it is not loose. You might check to see that your fuel tank vent tube and airbox lines are free from kinks. If that is not it I would suspect the TPS (throttle position sensor) might be loose or out of adjustment. Your issue has never happened to me, but those are what I would start looking into if it did.
