Bike mag did a very impressive and big comparison test of "giant trailie" tyres last year. Avon Azaro (19" equivalent) and Storm rears were far away the best on road tyre. Only problem was that one of their tyres split during the test. Avon pointed out the split wasn't dangerous but, I guess, the damage was done.

I figured they might be a good deal because of this poor publicity. Not only were they cheap, they came with free replacement if punctured for their first 3 months. My local friendly bike garage, http://www.victory-vtwins.com/ told me that in the previous month they'd replaced 2 tyres and Avon coughed up immediately.

Apart from the good deal, they were dramatically better than the clapped out Anakees, and 4k miles later they still look and feel good. Although the rear is squaring off a bit.

On reflection, I suppose they would be better then the clapped out Anakees. The most noticeable change was the absence of tramlining, followed by their feeling of solidity when cranked over.
