recieved my package from daniel stern 2 days ago and got it installed last night. the cibie lamp install went well. after completely disassembling the trim ring and chassis around the lamp everything went back together just as if it were the stock unit. i plugged the the osram bulb into my new lamp/reflector unit and put the whole thing back into the bucket, 30 minutes. i'm an idiot and it was no sweat. definitely brighter but hard to measure, no doubt worth the approx. $100.
i have one question to you fellas though. in the old setup there is another smaller bulb and wire and in my new one there is not. i still have regular and high beam on my new cibie setup. when i had my stock arrangement and i flipped from high to low this smaller auxiliary bulb wouldn't light up then either. what was it for? the only thing i can think of is for the "pass" switch but i'm not going to bother to put it back together the old way just to test my theory. ANYONE KNOW?
anyway, dealing with mr. stern was a pleasure. he sounds very capable of handling whatever you throw at him and doesn't mince words when telling you what you need to buy for the results you are trying to achieve.
