looking at the triumph site i see a promotion of 3.9%apr or $1,000 cash back towards gear, 3.9%def being the better of the two

Yep, what derekb said. The 3.9% deal doesn't include the Thruxton. The Bonne and Scrambler are included. Try and talk them down in price. I know I've seen a few new '07 Thruxton's around here for under $7000.
