$6000 isn't a bad deal on a new bike. You're covered under warranty if anything should go wrong.

Things to look for:
Rust in the gas tank.
Dry rot in the rubber components: tires, fuel and brake lines, vacuum caps on the carbs, and I'll bet the battery strap is shot (it's often the first rubber item to go bad.)
Operation of the carbs -springs and needles can corrode if they've been exposed to moisture, and gas will evaporate and form a laquer -if gas was ever run through them.

Dealer must install fresh oil and fresh brake fluid, and check/adjust/lube the cables and bearings -or has the bike been kept in a shipping crate that this would all be done for the first time?
