I'm not sure about the glass mat batteries.... I had a lot of issues with my regular battery boiling one cell down every 500 miles or so. Then one day I accidentally turned the parking light on, and didn't get back to the bike for 5 days (flu).... VERY dead battery. I decided to go with a gel cell.

It has been going 2 years now and I love it. Totally maintenance free, fully charged off the shelf, pop the tender on it during the winter when there is ice all over the driveway and roads. Ready to go anytime.

Sounds like I do advertising for them. Not sure of the brand that I have; I can take a look later, but I am at work now (LOL). I paid about $70 for the battery.

Again, Love it!
