Well I have to say I am gutted, I bought a pair of the new tourance EXP, they were on offer at M&P online for £130.00 delivered, I have only done 1,230 miles and they have used over 2mm of tread.

The annoying part is you only get 7mm on them compared to the 9mm you get on standard tourances, so at this rate I will be lucky to get 3000 miles out of the rear, I wouldn’t mind I don’t ride particularly hard, I used to get 7000 out of my old tourances and I wore away 2 sets of pegs from the angle of lean you could get from them.

These don’t seem to feel as secure at the same angle, but in the wet they do feel better, the tyre has a more round edge to it than the old tourance so when you are on a peg scraping corner you haven’t got as much rubber on the road.

The other issue I have is MPG, I used to get 160 miles to 16.00 worth of petrol, that worked out at about 49 miles per gallon, that has dropped to 40 miles per gallon, is it because these tyres are more sticky than the other ones once they warm up I wonder.

I will be going back to the old tourances; you know the old saying “IF IT ISN’T BROKE, DON’T TRY AND FIX IT”
