Honestly, it's too bad that some people apparently feel the need to apologize for washing their bikes. They're your bikes; do whatever you want to them. For my part, I've spent time customizing mine, which time I suppose I could have spent riding it. So sue me.
By the way, isn't there some validity to the argument that a frequently cleaned bike lasts longer?
