I'm not against washing, i do it usually when its going to rain for a few days i wash it and then in spare time wax and detail but when its nice you won't catch me washing. . .I just cant see how someone can keep their rear sprocket spotless or their spokes all clean and shiny, same with brakes. or how on earth people with gold chains keep them clean . I think a bike should look clean but well ridden all in one. . .if that makes any sense. I do find it humorous as well that oftentimes here, the stock broker with the gay pirate look who barely rides at all gets made fun of when, some here might spend more time cleaning than riding. And now to make a hypocrite of myself hmmm chain wax, I've never heard of such a thing. . .I may have to try some.
