your sentiment has been expressed here many times--- though I don't really understand the disappointment.

Presumably--- the disappointment would stem from the fact that Triumph is not producing nor plans to produce (at least in the short term) a big daytona--- but this longing for a "NEW" daytona is based on the characteristics, performance, and beauty of the Daytonas that have already been produced. If it's the big 955 milled Daytona that provokes this lust in you--- then why not search out a clean used example and nurture and love it?

In some sense it like asking BMW to produce the classic airhead--- ain't going to happen--- and if you really like the classic airheads--- there are tons of them in the used marketplace.

I've been acquiring an admiration for the earlier four cylinder daytona 1200's--- I don't yearn for Triumph to re-introduce the model---- and if they did it most likely would not have the characteristics of the earlier vintages that I like anyway.

I don't see that technology has really advanced so far ahead of the latest 955i Daytona's that had been produced that I feel like somehow I am riding a buggy cart. It's only the extreme supersports that are pumping out much more than 150 HP in 2008. And there are many currently produced sport bikes that still aren't equaling my 04 daytona for engine performance.

In the long run Triumph not producing a newer generation of big Daytonas makes our bikes even moreso special and semi-collectible. At least it won't be a two on every block bike.

Here in the states if you shop hard enough you can still find literally brand new Daytonas in dealer's showrooms at giveaway prices.
