The do-it-yourself airbox is an okay quick fix. I did the operation and it was not difficult but trying to find places for the wiring etc. was a pain and a lot of electrical tape was used. Its also ugly to look at but I guess thats why we have side covers.
I will upgrade to a kit when I have the money. Eventually I would like to permanently remove the sidecovers.
