definitely double check the coils - I'm not saying it can't happen but I havent heard of the ignitors going in this fashion - usually they either work or they don't. Double check the coils and the wiring harness / connectors before shelling out the big bucks. Also contact triumph-ant in the UK for a price on a used / rebuilt one. Your assumption that if the pickup was faulty that you would fire on none is correct.
