B&C, use specialist brake cleaner, either aerosol or from a tub. This is formulated to clean but not harm the adhesive. Not sure on your bike but............ the oil in the primary is for lubing the chain, ONLY!
DO NOT over fill and use what's reccommended for the bike. Unless you tell us what you have because there might be a better option.
