NINETY4, well, at least you must of got a GREAT deal (price wise) on your new '04, correct?

For some reason the D955i doesn't seem to be selling very well (in the US). The new models just seem to collect dust sitting on dealer's showroom floors for what seems like an eternity.

I got a pretty good deal on my new '04 last August, but by end of the year, when you bought yours, I probably could of got it at dealer's cost. Last August, I qualified for the $500 factory rebate.

I've kept my exhaust stock during break-in, and have only put about 1400 miles on it so far. I did add a few Triumph accessories (CF tank protector, hugger and rear axle nut covers. The latter painted black of course, to match the rest of the "SE" theme). IMO, the tank protector should be std equipment, especially on the "SE".

I agree, Triumph's OTC accs are really expensive. As much as I like the looks of CF high mount, I don't have sufficient funds to get one just yet. Glad to hear you like yours so much. I'm quite envious!

I was wondering more about the "sound" from yours. Does it seem a lot louder than stock at part throttle, just cruising in city traffic?

I have a high mount Ti MHP cannister (obtained used) that I am going to try first. It does look as gorgeous as the CF you got, but still saves a considerable amount of weight and has a pretty good sound; certainly not overly loud around town, which I like.

Yes, the late model D955i's induction/exhaust "sound" is most definitely delightful to hear at full bore. Wait to you get yours past 1k break-in and have a chance to open 'er up!!!

Even bone stock is SERIOUSLY infectious to hear at 8k and higher up in revs. I never owned any other big bore bike that sounded anywhere near at good as my D955i.
