New TT600

Hey guys, I just bought a '01 TT600 with 18k miles on it as my first bike. I paid $400 for it. Why so cheap?? Because it's got a nice sized hole in the engine block.

Anyways, I've been reading and lurking for a week or so and I figured I'd ask a question or two. I've been looking into my options basically and i figure I have two: rebuild a completely new engine, or swap in a used one from a wrecked or parted out bike. I'm decent with mechanical work, I've swapped out an auto trans for a manual before and swapped rear ends in a mustang, but never worked on bikes.

So here's my question: What blocks/motors will fit the '01 TT600 frame? I've already ordered a TT600 block/case etc with no internals for $90, but I'm starting to think that's not the cheapest/easiest solution. I've been looking around ebay and craigslist, and found an 04 Daytona 600 motor with wiring harness, tubes, airbox, ecu, etc for pretty cheap. Would this block/setup work with my bike?

I've also been looking at Triple motors, like the 955 or the 675. A little more expensive, but would these work also? Basically I just need to know what motors are interchangeable with what year bikes.

Any info or insight or writeups would be helpful. I've read the Daytona 650 motor into an d4 project already and it doesn't seem to intricate - as long as my frame has the right mounts.
