James,

My first thought would be the battery if it's more than a few years old. Even on a tender, they still go bad. I've never owned a bike more picky with batteries than a Triumph. Also, check all the likely suspects: kill switch, sidestand switch, neutral switch, clutch switch, starter relay, coil conections.
