Just to give you a heads up on the Icon helmet paint finish...I have an Icon Domain with the same flat black finish, not sure what its painted with but its got a rubbery feel to it and it wears/rubs off easily otherwise I think Icon is a great helmet. There are too many great starter helmets to list. My 1st was an HJC Tribal, great but felt bulky and kinda heavy
My 2nd was the Icon Domain, again loved the helmet...got it on fleabay for cheap...but same as 1st, felt buly and heavy(but lighter than the HJC).
Now I have an Arai RX7 and I am spoiled, Very light and confidence inspiring helmet. I say confidence inspiring bc I dont feel like Im going to sling myself off the bike when I do a quick sholder check to change lanes and such.
